This was our 7th cruise, but our 1st cruise with MSC and all I can say is WOW!!! Embarkation was the smoothest and quickest we've ever experienced, same with disembarkation. The ship (Seaside) was stunning! Very visually appealing and laid out very well. Everything was clean and sparkling, in fact it was so clean that I almost ran into glass doors on more than one occasion, as did others I saw! We had a balcony cabin, mid ship deck 13. The stateroom included a mini frig & hairdryer. The bed was super firm, which we loved, and our stateroom steward was very attentive. They give each person 2 pillows but they provide you with a "pillow menu" with 4 different types of pillows to choose from in case you prefer something different. This was super nice and a first for us. I like that they put passenger comfort as a priority! The air conditioning in the room worked very well and this was a definite plus as well. The dining was similar to other dining experiences we've had on other cruise lines. For breakfast and lunches we ate at the buffet (there are actually 2 buffets, located on different decks of the ship that you can choose from). We loved the ample seating and never once did we have a problem finding a table. They also have lots of outside seating at the buffets which was wonderful. We ate in the main dining room for dinner and the choices were adequate, the service was quick, and the desserts were fabulous! They have a gelato and crepe stand on board and I honestly could have lived off that alone for the whole week - it was that good! They had an adults only pool, which is a huge plus as some cruise lines are no longer offering this. The shows at night were hands down the absolute BEST we've ever seen on a cruise ship and we always attend all of the shows when we cruise, so I've got a lot I can compare it with. Several times during the week we ran into the captain, he seemed to be everywhere and he always greeted us and asked if we were enjoying ourselves. In fact, we met several senior officers and the staff was always asking us if there was anything they could do for us, again a first, as I don't recall ever meeting a captain on any other cruise line. On sea days, they had shopping sales, bingo, free craft classes, lots of stuff to keep you busy if that's your thing. We had no problem finding lawn chairs, although they weren't always necessarily right by a pool. The water slides were great and kids seemed to be enjoying the jungle kids pool area and ropes courses, although we weren't traveling with kids so we could only observe. Ports of call and excursions appeared to be similar and on par with other cruise lines and we booked 2 excursions through them. I enjoyed a facial treatment in the spa and the prices were considerably cheaper than what I've paid with other cruise companies. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will definitely consider booking a future cruise with MSC!

Cabin Review

Fantastica Outside Stateroom

Cabin O2

Very clean cabin. Nice flat screen TV, plenty of channels. Very firm bed, which we loved. Balcony was wonderful as well. Room steward was exceptional and even though his English wasn't the greatest, he never shied away from trying to talk to us or to inquire if he could do anything for us! Great service, not only for our cabin but throughout the ship!
