We chose this cruise because I'm never ready to get off the ship on seven day cruises and this was a nine day. Just right!! Port of Miami is a nightmare. Every time that we go out of Miami there is some kind of debacle. We arrived at 10;30 documents and passports in hand. We were quickly checked in and given our seapass cards. Then, as in the past were not permitted to board. We stood in a massive line for two hours. This is our eighteenth cruise and we have never run into this at any other port. They need to either have a waiting room with seating, or have the ship/and boarding later after the ship has been cleared/cleaned and ready to receive passengers. We have been on two of the sister ships of the Navigator of the Seas and always enjoyed the size of the ships. The ship was clean and nicely decorated. We had a balcony on deck seven. Our room and balcony were larger than usual and our room steward was outstanding. We did have an "issue" with our mattress, however. The one side was perfect and the other side had a bunch of hard lumps. Our room steward did try to fix the problem with some success. We loved the staff on this ship! As stated earlier, our cabin steward was the best. The staff in the Windjammer was very friendly and helpful and the food was great. The food and staff in the main dining room was good also, however there was hardly any variety from day to day and the staff was clearly short-handed, and rushed. There was some compromise on the service in the main dining room because of the short-handed staff. We also ate in Chops Grill one night. The food and service was good but I don't know if it was worth the extra money. The entertainment was "good" the ice show outstanding. We went to the beach in Curacao. It was nice and clean and there was plenty of shade for my easily sunburned spouse. This was our first time in Bonaire. We booked an excursion to Spice Beach. VERY disappointed with the old run-down not air conditioned school bus that was sent to pick us up, driven by the aloof driver. No help, no conversation. Spice Beach Resort has a nice bar/restaurant and a large pool. This beach is perfect for snorkelers, not swimming as it is rough coral then a five foot drop off. There were lots of beautiful fish to see while snorkeling. Our stop in Aruba was canceled because of the weather there. We went to Nassau instead and although we have been there countless times, we have never been to Pearl Island. This turned out to be the nicest excursion on the whole cruise. It's beautiful in every way---so glad we discovered it. We stayed in Miami an extra day so we were not in a big rush to get off of the ship. We had breakfast and waited our turn and found our luggage easily due to the new system. All in all it was a nice cruise, however if Royal Caribbean keeps cutting back they will have to change their name to Ordinary Caribbean.
