Like many contributers to these forums, my wife and I discovered "Cruising" over 30 years ago and embarked ( sorry for the Pun ) on an adventure which included 1,2 and even 3 cruises a year, trying every different cruise line we could find offering the most exciting destinations available.
Then again with "time" we started to "hone" our requirements for a holiday avoiding "Long Haul Flights", the new exciting massive Liners with over 4000 + passengers, neither did we want to tackle the "Wall of Death", "Tower of Doom" or slide down a tube full of water from one end of the Ship to the other !!!
So we started to look for smaller ships more in keeping with the pair of "Old Farts" we were turning into. That's when we discovered Fred Olsen some 6 years ago and proceded to have some wonderful holidays on the Balmoral ( 1350 cruisers ) and couldn't find fault with anything on board, although I did have to give up the"Bingo" as I found it too exciting especially with my "Dickie Ticker".
