I chose Norwegian Cruise Line as I had been on a Hawaiian cruise with this line before and liked it. Also this cruise visited places I had not been to before. There were lots of things to do onboard and the food was very good. The ship is very beautiful in decor and has numerous restaurants and bars available depending on one’s taste. My only comment would be that service was extremely slow in the restaurants and in the Tropicana some dishes were very salty, at least to my taste. However overall I loved the cruise and enjoyed my time on board and at the ports very much. The excursion to the the Gumbalina Animal Sanctuary was excellent, as was the boat excursion to see manatees in Belize. There were two evening Shows that were outstanding, the Milliondollar Quartet and the Burn the Floor dance show. These shows were repeated on other nights in order to accommodate the large number of people on board. Unfortunately that limited the number of shows overall. Thus I was a little disappointed in the variety of shows available.
The stateroom was very nice. There was ample room for closet storage and the shower seemed a little larger than what I have encountered on other cruise lines. Our steward was very efficient and pleasant, always ready with anything one might need. Our stateroom was kept clean and well serviced with towels and linens daily.
We took the boat to see manatees and were not disappointed. These are beautiful animals. We were able to see several of them as they surfaced several times for air. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the manatees and how Belize is caring for them to protect them.
