I organized a birthday party for 13 women on the Norwegian Sky April 27 - April 30, 2018. I had never been on cruise and never really wanted to go on a cruise, however my friend who was celebrating her 50th birthday loves to cruise so I thought this would be a great way to celebrate. Let me say that I also do not like all inclusive resorts. A few of us decided to get the largest rooms we could, so we booked two Owners Suite - 9201 & 9202 and I am glad we did. Upon arriving at the Sky I noticed that most of the passengers were very young which had me worried. It looked like Spring Break. The rooms were ok. Somewhat dated and some things just did not work - like the phone, which made it hard to call for the service. The suite has one outlet that made hair dryers, IPhones etc hard to use. Our private deck was perhaps my favourite spot. Very peaceful. Our 'butler' Willie was really great. We had wine and cheese in our suites every day. It became a gathering spot for everyone. The dinner we had in the 'speciality' restaurants were good. Cagney's and The Bistro were surprisingly nice. We had breakfast at Cagney's or ordered room service fro breakfast. This cruise is really designed for those who like to drink ( I don't) - a lot - as all the alcohol is free. It is loud around the pool and you can't really get into the pool or hot tubs as people seem to live in them. Plus it doesn't seem very clean. My friend loved all the 'activities' on the boat although not for me. I wish they had a early morning yoga class? The shore excursions were old. Nassau is really looking tired and our Atlantis trip was average (I stayed here long ago). The Stirrup Cay excursion was more of the same. Lots of drinking, loud music and not much to do. I found all the people who worked on the ship to be very friendly and helpful. I like the priority boarding. As I suspected a cruise is not for me. I don't really understand travelling with so many people to a destination. The boat at night on the sea was beautiful but I can't help think that these floating resorts are getting out of hand. I know my friend loved her trip and she will be back on board another cruise. As for me, I'll kayak and sail but leave the cruising for others.
