So this was my 4th cruise with Carnival but 20th cruise overall. My preferred line is NCL and Princess, and after cruising on the Carnival Miracle 2years ago which was AWFUL, I had low expectations of the Sunshine.
However, it did not disappoint, it was infact one of my favourite cruises of all time.
Pro's-
The cabin itself was a standard size balcony cabin. Bathroom was good with a huge area for the shower, much bigger than normal cabin showers.
The bed for the 3rd person is tiny, only good for a short adult or a child, however the rest of the cabin was perfect, clean and didn't look overly old.
The highlight is the balcony, it's massive! 2 sunbed chairs, 2 normal chairs and a table, and still lots of space. Probably 2-3 times the size of a normal balcony.
Been before and a bit of an odd place. But we walked up to the fort through the garden cliff area which is nice. Then spent the day on the beach which is 10min walk from the ship. Really good beach, free WiFi, good swimming and snorkelling and cheap drinks in the beach bars!
We hired a car for the day so we could get quickly out of the port area (car hire in the port shops when you get off the ship. $75 for the day).
We then drove over to Churchill beach next to the Wyndham hotel and it was amazing! Totally quiet, peaceful and some great swimming and snorkelling. Absolutely recommended.
Stopped at Port Lucaya marketplace on the way back and its really good. Nice setting and good shops/bars
Lovely island! Would go back on a holiday for sure.
