This was our first cruise experience in decades. The Star was an awesome ship along with the service and food except we were disappointed with the Chef's Table for which one had to make advance reservations. There was limited selection at this restaurant and the food did not live up to the other dining experiences on the ship. Otherwise the rest of the dining experiences were outstanding. Manfredi's restaurant was outstanding but you had to book reservations very early. I make the mistake of booking most of the finer dinner reservations at the Chef's Table. The non-reservation restaurant was also outstanding. There were several places to get something to eat and bars everywhere. Loved the breakfast choices. Recommend the alcohol package.

The Star was amazing, clean, sleek, attentive staff, never crowded. We had a Penthouse Junior Suite that was awesome. We had paid for Viking transportation to and from the ship but somehow they didn't have us booked for our return to go home. After talking with their agents they did let us on the bus to the airport.

The check-in procedure on arrival to the ship was non-existent. We were handed a glass of bubbly and left to our own to find our stateroom which was a Penthouse Jr Suite so the check-in was a bit rough. I expected an escort to our suite.
