We have enjoyed a number of Royal Caribbean cruises over the years and thought it would be a great way to see Havana. The ship was smaller and older than other RC ships we have been on. The theater is poorly laid out. The pillars, tables, chairs and couches were placed in such a way that it made the seating awkward. The Windjammer seating situation was also poorly planned since there were barriers between tables. I felt like a mouse in a maze trying to join the rest of my family. In terms of food, the selection was not as good as past cruises. The entertainment, as always, was excellent. The service on board the ship was also excellent. Here's what really bothered me: I believe RC customer service lied about shore excursions in Cuba. Before the cruise, reps repeatedly said passengers could not get off the ship unless they purchased excursions though RC. So, even though I didn't want to do the excursions, I booked one for each day. One of the excursions started 90 minutes late, but yet ended right on time. As it turns out, passengers COULD get off the ship without a RC excursion. We were also told that we would need to have our visas with us at all times while in Cuba. Not true. Immigration collects the visas when you leave the ship. We were also told by a RC rep that If we bent, tore or lost our visas, we would be detained in Cuba, which scared the hell out of us. I think RC needs to get its employees on the same page when it comes to travel to Cuba.

Interior Stateroom

Small. Storage not as good as other RC ships.
