Hi, Hopefully you will not be board by the length of this but felt it would be useful to give some hits and misses for the cruise I have just been on. The sea was a little rough on the way to the Canaries which personally I think is ok - sick bags were at the ready on the stairs and hallways! It was sad to hear over the tannoy of so many medical emergencies. One was at about 11:30 on the second evening - resulted in the passenger being airlifted off. All very sad. I believe there were about 10. The age range of this cruise seemed to be the older end of the market. Positives - Limelight club was great - we watched Jacki Graham, Sean Williamson and Gareth Gates. All stoped after the performance and chatted with us and had photos taken. Food in this venue was very good and it was a nice intimate venue (about 100 of us in there) - Beach hut served lovely food as did the Glass House - We liked the ship and found getting around it no problem - Entertainment - this was great all barr the Pulse group which we found to be below parr. One of the male members kept forgetting his words and 2 of them just kept messing about, not very professional. Was a treat to see Sam Bailey in the theatre. - Cabin was absolutely fine and the large showers were good. - Tea and coffee in room was good - Madeira - wonderful island, we did the cable car and toboggan - such good fun, would recommend it. - Enjoyed the flower corsage and buttonhole class. - Some good films on the in cabin entertainment Negatives - Oh dear, the food ..... eeeekkkk !! We only ate in the main dining room 1 time out of the 14 nights. Awful, you don't get what you are expecting and was rather bland. It is a shame that you have to pay extra to eat in venues to get decent food ie. Beech House, Limelight etc.) - Thermal suite - another oh dear .... cost £300 for us both to have use of this facility. Hydrotherepy pool, water beds, steam rooms, hot stone beds etc. For the majority of the cruise at least 4 of the items did not work. When complaints were raised with the Manager of the Spa she shrugged her shoulders and did nothing. We did complain to the main reception and were given back £150 as a gesture of goodwill. We were not the only ones who experienced problems - The wait in line to get back on board after getting off the boat at various destinations. One day we waited over half an hour in the heat to get back on board. - P&O are missing a trick with the drinks packages, other cruise lines offer a more varied choice. - No equipment on the sports court to use - what is the point of having basket ball hoops etc. if no ball to play with! All in all it was a nice holiday, however I think we will be going back to Princess as we missed the extra luxuries you get with them and the food quality.

Bit hit and miss
