Our much anticipated cruise on the Oasis has come and gone. There were a few surprises and I'll try to stick mostly to the stuff I didn't see on other reviews.

We spent three days in Orlando prior to the cruise, rented an Alamo rental car and drove the 3.5 hours to the port. Returned the car at the FLL airport and took the courtesy bus to the port-very easy. We had not received luggage tags ahead of time and I was anticipating a problem. The porter whipped some out of his pocket, handed me a pen, and told me to go ahead and fill them out-not a problem at all and he waited patiently while I did, then told us to have a great voyage. Nice guy-he got a $20 tip for his patience and our 7 bags.

I anticipated chaos and a bit of a crowd since we arrived right at rush hour-noon. Surprise! We didn't even need to use the platinum boarding area. We were immediately checked in and rode the escalator upstairs to board. Absolutely NO LINES. I was so impressed with the seemingly miles of check-in stations and the ability to handle so many people so efficiently.

Cabin Review

8568-Great cabin close to elevators and on the Central Park level. We loved that we could walk home thru Central Park each night to get back to our room. No outside noise and it was on the docking side at all the ports so we got to watch the action. It is also right where the ship breaks the water so it sounds like the ocean breaking on the surf at night when you leave your balcony door open. AHHH. There is also a public restroom right around the corner which came in handy a few times when we both wanted a bathroom. It is one of the rooms with the bed by the door and the sofa by the closet. Also, we liked it towards the front of the ship because we seemed to use the solarium, entertainment place and other venues towards the front of the ship. We could also conveniently go right around the corner to the Cafe in Central Park for a pastry or quick bite.
