Wanted to sail around Australia and this cruise worked with the Diamond Princess sail around New Zealand. The Sea princess is a beautiful old ship. She has a lot of charm. Boarding was a breeze, however leaving the ship for excursions was not. On previous cruises you go off the ship as a group led by a crew member through the check point. This was a free for all You were called by the familiar color and number then told to disembark with the other passengers . The service in the horizon room was lacking. A few of the Waite staff were friendly but getting a cup of coffee in the morning was easier to do it myself. The menu in the dining room repeated which is ok on a 2 week cruise but on a 4 week cruise. For having an Italian chef on board the food was mediocre. The pizza in the Cornish Cafe was wonderful and a big improvement over the dining room. The grill was another option but who wants pre cooked hamburgers sitting in a pan with the pre fried French fries next to them. In the horizon room meat was well done and left in sauce. Tough to cut and no steak knives. Sliced pork, chicken and turkey were a better choice. I had never been on a Princess Cruise were you had to beg for a cookie. It became a joke when you had to wait till 3:30pm to get a cookie. Then maybe they would be available. Not enough seating in the horizon, just a few outdoor tables and way to hot to sit outside at lunch. Never been on a cruise where they ran out of iced tea and did not restock in Brisbane. Should not of been surprised since they ran short of a lot. Missed the soft serve ice cream which was replaced with fancy gelato at a fancy price. The entertainment was so so. A movie in the princess theatre and a disco on deck passed for shows. When John our cruise director left and Benny came on it went downhill fast. Shore excursions were also very disappointing. I could whine on but it came down to "if this were my first princess cruise it would of been my last"

Clean needed more outlets and a hair dryer that worked air conditioning couldn't keep up with demand
