This was my first cruise, and the first cruise for many in my group. This particular cruise was primarily full of retired couples. I'd say 95% worth, if not more. That's not to say it was a bad thing, it's just a statement of fact. It might have been the time of year, it might have been the type of cruise, or the cruise line, who knows. My understanding is that Princess is one of the higher end cruise lines. I thought the prices of the cruise were great, but I can see how many younger people might not be able to splurge on this sort of thing both financially, and in terms of getting away from school/work for this length of time at this time of year.

That being said, we had a wonderful time. Definitely bring those seasick patches along, just in case. Call your doctor, ask for the prescription and bring them. You don't want to spend all that money on a vacation that you feel sick on. They say they don't work as well if you put them on after your already moving (before you get on the plane and boat) however, they work quite well enough that you'll feel comfortable. Slap one on the minute you start to feel seasick keep it on. It was a little rough through the Caribbean, but I kept it on the whole cruise after I started feeling sick. I just didn't want to have that feeling, and you don't even notice the patch. The seasick bracelets worked, to some extent. The ginger pills worked to some extent too. But the patches are the best. Plus, if you end up going on tours, you may be on the bus for quite some time and that'll make you feel motion sick as well sometimes.

The food was phenomenal at the sit down breakfast and dinner. Dinner was a 5 star dining experience. I never tried sit down lunch, not even sure if they have it. The 24 hour buffet was typical buffet food. Pretty good, but in order to please a large crowd of predominantly older people, the food was a little bland in some cases. But all in all, it will serve your lunch/late night dinning needs. Room service is free, take advantage of it to have coffee delivered when you wake up, or late at night for a snack when you don't want to leave your room.

Cabin Review

Cabin E

Totally Obstructed view in "Obstructed Ocean View" type room. Had only a small sliver of ocean view. Accomadates up to 4 adults, but it was too crowded for 3 to be comforatable. I hit my head on the "3rd" bed, a bunk bed, several times.
