We received this cruise trip as a present from my parents, we went as a family.
We flew to Miami on a red-eye and drove to the Keys before getting on the boat. We checked in at 2pm and it was relatively easy. We were very surprised how unexcited/friendly/warm the check-in guy was. It was very odd and a deflating. Our room was great - we had a balcony and it was definitely a highlight to our trip. The bed was very comfortable and it was great how much storage space (closet) we had. Throughout the whole trip we noticed that all the staff were extremely unfriendly. There were only a few people that every seemed happy - cruise director (Richard Madick I think), the hand washing lady in the morning (known as washy washy, happy morning! to everyone), our very friendly and helpful room cleaner - Agam, and a very tall Serbian bartender. We were constantly greeted by bartenders especially with a look of almost disgust, as if it was inconvenient or annoying that we were ordering anything. It really made it unpleasant. There is one person in particular that should have no business being a bartender by the pool - that is a place for fun and happiness and he was an ass, he was from the Philippines and wore white rimmed glasses. He would ignore people and then when you stood there long enough for him to ask what you wanted he was rude about it. Also, the Indian gentleman at the excursions desk - very unhelpful and also unfriendly. Someone else that stood out in a good way, was the guy who hosted the Johnnie Walker event, I believe he was Danish or Norwegian, he was very fun, friendly, helpful and kind.
Grand Pacific Restaurant -good, not great. Nothing to mention.
Beautiful, comfortable. Bathroom small but happy with shower size which is all that really matters. Did wish we had a fan in the bathroom though. Agam, our housekeeper was really nice. Our balcony was really dirty though when we got on, hair and dirt. There were a lot of hand prints on the AC unit above the bed...... that was pretty funny but also gross.
Rained, scuba excursion cancelled. Hired a local guide to drive us around. Ugly town, sad really.
Harvest Caye tourist resort was beautiful, just had a pool party. Really pretty!
Took the ferry to the mainland nearby fishing town - sad little place with nothing to do or see. Boring.
