Cabin: Balcony

This cruise was across the Atlantic, relaxing, great food and entertainment and a top contender for mid-grade cruise ships.

First the good. Yes, the food and service was excellent most of the time and they were very gracious. The Cruise Director Angela [she is by far the most glib, talented and personable cruise director we've ever had] and her staff, Fayve, Mark and Crissi were wonderfully talented.

But the ship!! We thought we were on...wait, we were on a shake down cruise...to get out all the kinks and errors from before and during dry dock. The outside was rusty, the dry dock work was not completed [example: carpet layers in lobbies at 10 p.m. working]. The cabin we had was tacky at best! Trim falling off, shabby caulk around tub, tub filling with water during shower [with drain open], trickle of water from faucet [after two days of requesting a plumber, no-show, I took off the filter and found sand and other stuff and brown effluent/water came out. Ugh. Balcony was equally shabby. Rust, paint missing [except on the sliding door to the balcony: plenty of paint on it].

Cabin BD

Not a very nice experience in the cabin with poor plumbing, old and worn fixtures in shower and under sink. Trim falling off in two places. We kept the thermostat down to the lowest at night and still baked under the heavy heat comforter. Wow, Antarctica would be comfy. Bed lush but a bit soft and mushy, not like some hotel beds. The cabin was worn, dated in Bathroom and on the trim, and on the balcony. Just not up to it. Carnivalized?
