We wanted to try a river cruise. My brother in law was in Holland 50 years ago as a student and wanted to go back. While this cruise only covered one country it was a wonderful experience.

First of all, the boat only held about 138 passengers with a crew of 39. All crew member spoke English. Instructions from Avalon were easy to follow; but there is a lot of paperwork and it is important to read it all thoroughly.

We met in Amsterdam and a bus took us to Haarlem to board the ship. The embarkation went smoothly. Our room was comfortable, the air conditioning could have been a little cooler. we were able to open our patio door when sailing.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin A

A little small, but plenty of room for all of our belongings. The only drawback, was the air conditioning could have been a little colder
