having been on the spirit many times over the years we wanted to have one last cruise before the ship ended its life with tui.
flying from east midlands early in the morning with no problems and the transfer to the port was good.
sailing from palma and visiting the following ports of call, livorno : monaco : tulon : barcelona : and ibiza.
although the ship is old and well worn it still has that comfortable feeling that we have experienced in the past.
we had in inside cabin on deck 3, it was clean and comfortable with everything we expected i.e small but manageable shower, flat screen tv and tea making facilities.
we had most of our meals in the compas rose restaurant, the food was realy good and always a choice for everyone.
We must say that we were very lucky to have the same table for all our evening meals as we were served by what we must describe as the most attentive and entertaining group of waiters, EDWARD - JOEL and the wine waiter SANJEEV. These three gentlemen were exceptional and although we are used to the high standard of service on past cruises with tui this was the best ever.
we found the entertainment as good as any we had experienced in the past with special mention of STRUM JAM and NEW DIMENSIONS as these groups are a class apart for cruise ships.
no matter where we were on board the spirit the service was good and everyone wanted to please.
earlier this year we had a cruise around the canaries with the tui dream and without doubt the spirit was a class above in all areas, we will be sorry to see the spirit go, but will have many good memories and if possible we will try to have one more cruise before she finally sails away.
