Cruise started and ended in beautiful Sydney Harbor. The boarding process was quick and we were onboard in about ten minutes. Princess used the Overseas Terminal for this cruise. Our luggage showed up very soon after which allowed us to be unpacked before the Emergency Assembly which is greatly improved now that you no longer have to bring your life jacket and check in is totally electronic.
The first thing we noticed was the friendly crew. This is a good sign as we've had many, many Princess cruises with unhappy crew.
All of our Photographs got lost. Only one good ship photo for entire cruise. Not sure what was happening. We searched through the disk with a crew member and did not find any of the missing images.
The TV is a joke. Only worked half the time. No location map or time and temperature information. WiFi was mediocre at best. Some public areas had good strength. Storeroom WiFi barely works.
Food in Horizon Court at breakfast was excellent for entire trip. The selection was varied with Asian, English and U.S. options. The fruit was super and plentiful. The presentation was also well done. Coffee in Horizon Court was horrible as usual. The liquid instant coffee really sucks. Luckily, you can find good coffee at Lobby Bar on deck 5.
Food in the main dining room was good. Plenty of options to choose from with local dishes offered each meal. The staff was friendly and courteous and always there to help and make recommendations. There food delivery training was weird. Sometimes they would cut open your meat and who knows why.
The fish in the Sushi Restaurant did not look fresh, so we walked out.
The size of the public areas is small. Not enough seats in many places.
The Captains Italian was difficult to understand over the PA system. The ship needs attention on the outside. There is rust in many places and a large hole was in the steel deck on our balcony.
Many great stops and shore tours. Complete reviews are in TripAdvisor.
The people of New Zealand are warm and friendly and very gracious hosts. They have accomplished much and want to share it.
Plenty of elevators and all were large enough to handle large number of passengers with disabilities.
