This was my second cruise, both have been with Royal Caribbean. I'm working my way up the RCI family of ships from smallest to largest, this being my second cruise it was booked on Grandeur of the Seas. Those in attendance with me were siblings, my partner, husbands, wives, in-laws, parents, grandparents, my sister's two boys ages 5 & 7, and a few friends ranging in age up to my grandfather who is a very active 99 years old and had never been on a cruise ship before. Everyone has said it was one of the best vacations of their lives. There was little room for improvement.
The Port of Tampa is great. Easy parking, quick boarding in minutes. We arrived at 11 AM and were on board by 11:15 AM.
The inside cabin was larger than on the Monarch. The bathroom was a big improvement. I liked the location of our cabin on the 4th floor, lower centrum level by the Champagne bar, yet it was on a middle hallway so late night noise from party-goers was minimal. I still do not see a need for a window considering how little time I spend awake in there. Our group had one OV accessible stateroom for my grandfather which was very spacious, about the size of two regular staterooms. Beds and linens were very comfortable, I asked for additional pillows and got them before bedtime. Everything was clean and in good order.
The middle hallway is much more quiet than the main aisles. Everything in the cabin was clean and in good repair. Lots of storage space, drawers in the desk, night tables, even in the closet. Several racks for for hanging clothes.
