We chose this cruise because of the port of departure and the destination (Tampa to Panama Canal with ports of call in Costa Rica and Grand Cayman Island). Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. We had a fantastic time. We loved the ship. It's beautiful and has a cozy, warm charm to it. The food and service were superb. We especially enjoyed the Alterr Band in the Red Frog Pub who were terrific with their excellent performances of classic rock hits, especially lead guitarist, Sonny! All of the stewards/waiters/servers/ nearly everyone we met working on the ship were friendly, cordial and happy to go out of their way to make everything nice as can be. In Costa Rica, we booked the Carnival excursion to the Veragua Rainforest Eco Adventure with the Canopy Zip Line experience. This was well worth the $165, as the guide - Edgar Blanco - and all the staff and support along the way did a fantastic job of accommodating our group. Although we were disappointed not to have seen the wildlife we had hoped to, Edgar did spot a sloth on our way back, had the driver pull over and gave us time to take some photos. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of his country, and exudes great passion for the work being done in the study and sustaining of the country's rainforest, its wildlife, culture, etc. In Grand Cayman Island, we booked an excursion directly with Stingray Sailing (Chip) (www.stingraysailing.com), based on another reviewer's recommendation, and this also was well worth the $65. We had a great catamaran ride out to the sandbar, swimming with and feeding the stingrays, snorkeling at a coral reef, and then sailing back in. Highly recommend booking directly with www.stingraysailing.com. As for the ship itself, beautiful! If I had one negative to say, it's that the drinks are very expensive and highly recommend you purchase a in-stateroom beverage package to enjoy adult beverages. Also, do NOT carry the allotted bottles of wine or canned beverages in your checked luggage. Have them with you in your carry-on bags, as they will be removed from the checked-in luggage. Visiting the Panama Canal was a wonderful experience, although as we started into the locks, it began to rain, so have a rain poncho cover and/or umbrellas just in case. Fortunately, the rain did not last long and overall, our day at Panama Canal was beautiful. Can't say enough for the ship. Loved everything about it. Look forward to our next Carnival cruise!

This cruise far exceeded our expectations!

Cabin Review

Extended Balcony
Cabin 8K 7164
Enjoyed having the extended balcony, although a regular balcony would have been fine. From our cabin, however, we overlooked the lifeboats several decks down. But having a balcony is definitely the way to go!

As for cabin itself, it seems a bit dated as far as decor, but there was plenty of room for all of our clothing, personal items. It was very quiet, with comfortable bed and linens.

Awesome excursion! Catamaran to "stingray city" sandbar, followed by snorkeling and sailing back in. Had a lovely time; great captain in Chip! a definite "must" if you want to experience the stingrays!
