Sail Date: Apr 2018
Cabin: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Check-in disorganized with limited staff and line for 20 min. (not long but with pouring down rain and no one directing things got messy). RC didn't mention the port construction - inside is being renovated and should be completed at the end of April. Received Seapasses in under 10 minutes. .

Our room was not ready until 1:30 - ate lunch in Windjammer. When the room was ready – the toilet was dirty and guest services fixed the problem quickly.

Entertainment & Activities - Average - needs variety and improvement. The entertainment crew – below average and need training on basic hospitality (re. treating all guests the same).

Cabin E3

Loved the balcony cabin - cleaned daily.

Port Reviews

San Juan

I didn't take an excursion but ended up at the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. Definitely a nice place with excellent customer service and food/beverage. Normally go to Isla Verde or Lucaya Beach (near the Rain Forest)...but tried something different this trip. It would have been a 5 for Puerto Rico - however, the staff at the taxi stand outside the ship - horrible customer service.

St. Thomas

We traveled to and from the ship to Megans Bay via taxi....had to wait for the taxi to fill up (didn't like this part) but understand why. You have to pay $10 per person to enter Magens Bay and children are free. The total cost of the taxi was $20 for two. Magens Bay is still beautiful....and loved hearing that Royal Caribbean cleaned up the beach as well as planted palm trees.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We traveled via taxi and paid $80 for two to travel to Brimstone Hill Fortress and South East Peninsula (the viewing point where the Caribbean and Atlantic meet). We met others that paid much less - however, we insisted on being the only two in the taxi...so can understand the amounts. Our driver was Chefdon and he was absolutely fabulous. He not only took us to the requested placed but drove us around town as well as pointed out others places and introduced us to people that live there. My excitement for this trip - was sitting in the Immaculate Conception Church while children were in services. It was my highlight - as I went to the school of the same name when a young child in Jamaica and received my confirmation at the church of the same name in Washington, DC.

There is a service fee of $10 per person to enter Brimstone Fortress. We had already been informed that the drive may charge extra if we went beyond 45 minutes at the fortress. We felt 45 minutes was more than enough time. If you decide to visit - there is a $1 fee to use the bathroom (not included in the entry fee) and we noticed that several of the rooms in the fort are under renovation. There is a place to purchase drinks and food - did not note the costs - as well as a picnic area.

The area to view the point where the Atlantic and Caribbean meet is absolutely beautiful. There are vendors there (clothing, souvenirs, and food/drink).....they only take cash and the prices are reasonable. The viewing area is absolutely breathtaking.

We quickly walked in and out of the stores near the pier - nothing really stood out for us.

Curacao

We traveled via taxi ($25 for two) to Mambo Beach. I had not been to the Beach since 2008 and a lot has changed......there are several restaurants, souvenir shops, and even a tattoo and piercing stores. The is an entry fee of $3.50 per person to the beach (sorry didn't get the price for children). Also there are a number of beach loungers...however, there is a price to use. The prices go decrease the further you go from the entrance. Stop at the bar area and ask about the cost.....also some off the ticket prices include a free water or soda.
