This was the first time going on Oceania. It was a Travelzoo deal and I thought it was a good price. I found out later that maybe it wasn't as good of a deal as I thought. Some people got upgrades and it was also their first time on the cruise.
My travel agent (based in Vancouver) was pleasant. Sometimes, it takes a few days for her to reply. Sometimes she would request that I contact Oceania directly. When I tried that, I was told he cannot help me because the travel agent booked that. That kind of irked me a bit. I don't like being shuttled back and forth.
You have to book your excursions, cooking courses, and speciality restaurants online. I found it quite annoying. Firstly, they don't tell you that there is no cost to the speciality restaurant bookings. I had to call them to find this out. There are four speciality restaurants and you are only allowed to book each restaurant ONCE. however, you may be lucky and be able to walk-in and get a seat. Most of the seating is groups which is kind of annoying. They need more two seating tables. The speciality restaurants are okay. I cannot say the food was anything to write home about. My favourite was Toscana. I didn't really care too much for Jacques.
Washrooms are big. It has a bathtub and shower. So happy not having those plastic drapes where I end up flooding the washroom.
I was very pleased with the room with the veranda.
