We do two or three cruises a year and we got an excellent deal for this trip and at the end we stayed four days in Singapore in the rather uncomfortable Hotel Boss.
We found the ship excellent. This was our second cruise on Ovation so Knew our way around. Our balcony cabin towards rear of ship was excellent and our Steward did a good job. The overall appearance was great and all the facilities very impressive. The dining in the main restaurants was very good and the service from the waiters of many nationalities was outstanding. They were happy, friendly and keen to respond to extra requests. We went to Jamie’s Italian, the tapas for lunch, the Japanese for dinner and Wonderland for dinner. All very good and Wonderland good except for main course of pork which was downright plain.
The theatre entertainment was average. First comedian poor but second very Aussie and funny. We did not go to the electronic violin player as we don’t like screechy solo violins. The biggest disappointments were the production shows which were glitzy, overly loud and no discernible story lines. The Boys in the Band show and the Queen show were superb. The latter group with ships orchestra the best I’ve ever seen.
Excellent. Spacious, good hanging space and comfortable bed.
