I was expecting relaxation, good shopping and tropical paradise. What I got was sleep deprivation, a parasite, overpacked, rude people with screaming kids that were allowed everywhere. Shopping consisted of being pushed into jewelry stores and very few locals selling nothing more than the basic tye-dye apparel and poorly carved trinkets. St Thomas was not the tropical paradise I had envisioned. The shore excursion was changed last minute and was not a beginners adventure! Also we were told we were to be reimbursed $10 each for the change but actually got $2. Haiti was beautiful but we were pretty much left to figure out how things work on our own and we had to pay $20 ea for a floating mat. Also we were never explained the options for transportation to and from the airport to ship so that was a shit show. And I guess I will conclude with the information that I contracted a parasite by the end of day 1 and have had diarrhea for 12 days now :(
