Cabin: Studio Stateroom

I first heard of the "studio" cabins when looking at the Norwegian Epic. I didn't take that Cruise but did schedule a "studio" cruise on the Escape. While booking a Studio cabin does not give you the same rate as someone sharing a cabin with a partner, it does allow you to save money from purchasing a double cabin for yourself.

What you get is a very small cabin that is located in a "keycard only" accessible area of the ship that includes a lounge for relaxing and enjoying coffee, juice, pastries, etc.. You also get a "solo" cruise manager which meets with you each evening to help schedule dinner and entertainment for that evening.

I absolutely love the solo concept. NCL clearly seems dedicated to the solo traveller. Unfortunately, as of now, this dedication only extends to the newer larger ships. Hopefully when the new Leonardo class launches in 2022, they will also include solo travellers as there are issues on the current larger ships which I will relate below.

Cabin Review

Studio Stateroom

Cabin T1

Small, cozy, comfortable. The Studio Lounge is a great place to meet and greet and an awesome place to get an early morning coffee and danish. I love the studio concept and hope they continue to expand on the already excellent solo program.

IMPORTANT TIP: Be sure to leave your cabin immediately after you remove your card or you might be caught in the dark, literally. It happened several times for me.
