We chose RC's Western Caribbean cruise to see new ports and visit Mexico. This was a family cruise with three teens (daughter, son and a friend). Adjoining rooms were all booked, so we chose a balcony room with an interior stateroom across the hall. We wanted to put the boys (16 and 18) in the interior stateroom, but couldn't because it requires at least one person over the age of 21. So we booked my wife and daughter in the interior room and did a lot of card swapping for excursions off the ship. Inconvenient, but it worked. I wish RC would allow a stateroom with one 18+ adult as long as there's a parent or guardian to take responsibility, as needed.

Overall experience was very good. Tendered ports were a bit inconvenient because of unclear instructions for those without RC excursions. Grand Cayman was a short tender ride and not a problem except for the wait time on the return tender, but Belize was a much longer tender ride exacerbated by both the wait time on the return and the long bus rides to most excursions.

Food was okay. Windjammer buffet had a decent selection and some tasty options, but like most buffets there was a wide range of quality. Main dining room food was average and lacked variety after seven days at sea. Waitstaff was friendly and responded well to our suggestion/request for quicker service.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

No excursion - just a tender to GC and some shopping. We didn't find any real bargains, but weren't shopping for any high-end items.
