We chose this cruise after being bumped from our original choices. Royal Caribbean told us that the boat had been "chartered" and gave us 3 different options. None of which worked for the best for us. The only compensation we received was a $200 credit (not per person either, just $200). This resulted in our son missing a week of school if we wanted to keep the same itinerary and price.
We bought the beverage package (no alcohol) and it was the worst thing I've ever seen. You had to carry around your souvenir cup which is ridiculous. It was difficult to know where you could get "included" drinks and never was I offered a can/bottle even though I saw them on the boat (so it's not as if they just don't have them due to environmental concerns).
Once we realized how expensive the photo package was we simply avoided having our pictures taken after that. We did purchase 3 prints and we felt as though they should've been given to us both in print & digitally for the $55.00 they cost (remember just for 3 small prints). Also, when they were printed the color was very odd and they are mostly unusable now anyway due to that fact.
In the central park area there are padded chairs and they look like they are 15 or more years old. They are stained & ripped and I couldn't bring myself to sit in them.
We went on a different excursion at each port and with the exception of Mexico felt that they were incredibly disorganized and we almost got left behind at the Jamaica excursion due to the fact that the guide didn't seem to know how many people were with each group and didn't seem to count his bus full of people.
On the bright side, our state room attendant - Carmen was awesome and took great care of us.
We had a 16 year old with us and although there was a teen section, it would've been nice to have had some organized activities or a person (cruise director for teens?) to try to get all the teens on board a bit more involved.
The food from room service was better than most of the food options available on board and was a completely different selection. The food & selection at the Windjammer was excellent and we found that being our "go to" when we were unhappy with the main dining selections.
Also, in the fitness room many of the cardio machines were broken or missing parts.
The cabin was great and we had no issues fitting 3 people in. We enjoyed viewing central park where it was quieter. Perhaps there could be another outlet or two.
Captain Michelle was very calm and patient with me as I was relearning how to do this.
View All 46 Snorkeling ReviewsThe time with the dolphins was excellent - however it was a very long ride (an hour each way) to get there. During the ride the guide gave us some fun facts about Jamaica. However, once we got there the was an extreme lack of organization and 2 of the 3 members of my party did not get to do all of the activities including the waterslide that was promised to us. In addition, there was no lunch and it was an extremely long & hot day and by the time we got back to the ship, we were very hungry and tired. (Tired good, hungry not so good) I feel like we almost got left behind due to the lack of organization.
View All 42 Swim With Dolphins ReviewsAlthough the guide was patient with us while in the Cenotes, it was a very long ride. However, after the snorkeling with the sea turtles and the Cenotes, we were given an opportunity to get dry and taken to a private beach club that had the most amazing views and provided lunch - which was excellent. The people at this excursion were by far the best, most helpful crew.
