All cruises are good. However, some are better and a select few are best. This was a ‘best’ cruise except for disembarkation which I will address separately at the end of this review.

This cruise had just the right combination of entertainment program, food quality, staff attitude, and ship condition to make it one of the best cruises we have ever done. This was a transit cruise from Sydney to Tokyo.

Embarkation was a breeze. We were on the ship within 20 minutes of our arrival. We are seasoned Princess cruises, but this was our first time on the Diamond. We found it in very good condition. It does not have an international café or vines bar, but all the other features you would expect on Princess are there. There were issues with the TV system for the first few days of the voyage, but these were sorted out quickly and we all got a cruise credit for the inconvenience.
