  3. Carnival Conquest
This cruise lined up perfectly for celebrating a 30 year wedding anniversary, a college graduate degree graduation, and Mother's Day all into one! We are avid cruisers and were very intrigued by taking the Conquest because of the itinerary (Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel) and the perks on board such as Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina. This cruise sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale so we made the trip in the night before and stayed about 45 mins from the port and drove the rest of the way the morning of which worked out great. Parking at the port was not an issue and we easily found ourselves in line to get on board. This was the perfect time of year for us to cruise since we do not have any young children and I think I recall seeing maybe 5 kids on board total. The boat itself just felt way less crowded than our typical mid-summer sailings we were used to going on. We had 2 Oceanview rooms on deck 2 at the back of the ship which worked fine for us, but I will advise if you get seasick or do not like vibrations or noise this is not the cabin location for you. We original looked at mid-ship, but price matched with Carnival to get a lower rate which allowed them to pick our rooms making the rate lower, but room location less desirable. We must have been right above the motor because it was very rocky and vibrating the majority of the sailing and was loud at times. A perk of being at the back of the boat is it is just a direct elevator ride up straight into the food. As far as food goes, this was by far our best food experience we have had on board a Carnival ship. The food served all throughout the boat including both the dining room and lido was great and I do not believe anybody in our group had something they did not like. Our dinner table was 8:15 seating and set for 4 so just our family. We had great service provided by our waitstaff and it was consistently efficient and had us out to the shows in plenty of time. As far as entertainment goes our favorite is always the comedy shows and this specific trip we had amazing entertainment in the comedy lounge. We had Rondell Sheridan (Mr. Baxter from Disney's That's So Raven) as one of our comedians and he is one of the best we had ever seen on Carnival and was kind enough to even take pictures with us after the show. Another perk on this sailing was we had Bobby Borgia performing magic in the main show lounge which is always such a treat. He is a great illusionist. Another benefit of the Conquest is it has a sports bar. Being a former college athlete, I took advantage of catching the Women's College Softball NCAA Regional games and a few NHL playoff games. Conquest also has your standard waterslides, mini golf, etc. to keep you entertained throughout the day. Ports and itinerary are why we chose this sailing. We had never been to Honduras or Belize and knew we loved Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Both Grand Cayman and Belize are tendered ports requiring you get on a small boat instead of docking at the island. In Grand Cayman we took a cab for a beach day at 7 mile beach and had a great day with great weather. In Honduras we booked with an excursion outside of Carnival enjoying one of the best cruise days we have ever had getting food, drinks, animal encounters, jumping off platforms, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and everything was perfect. In Belize we took a boat and snorkel tour which allowed us to swim with sharks and stingrays. We also had a great lunch on the beach and were able to see into the Belizean culture at the island we stopped at. In Cozumel we took the Carnival excursion for Catamaran Sail and Snorkel with Fury. It was a great excursion with one snorkel stop then straight to a private beach with water inflatables, beach cabanas, hammocks, free alcohol, and food for purchase. We really did not have any complaints this trip. We had a slight incident with our shore excursion in Cozumel, but Carnival handled it professionally and placed us on a more expensive excursion for the same price we paid for the other. Chloe our cruise director seemed great and we really enjoyed her, but she had her husband on board during our sailing resulting in her being a little distracted. Announcements just were not as clear as we were used to while sailing and we did have a medical emergency take place when we arrived in Belize resulting in a big delay on excursion departures, but Carnival handled this well and everyone made it to their excursions and were able to complete them. We are excited to be sailing again this May 2018, but on a different ship and itinerary. This will be our first sailing as Carnival Platinum members and we are excited about it. We would definitely go back on the Conquest and recommend the boat to all of our friends and family. We also have since been back on the same itinerary as this trip on Conquest sister ship the Carnival Glory.

Incredible food and great cruise

Cabin Review

Ocean View
Cabin 6B 2480
This cabin is very noisy and vibrates as it is right above the motor. We did not mind as we do not get sick and at night it almost felt as if you were being rocked to sleep. The noise was little loud, but nothing we couldn't handle.
