We have been on 20+ cruises and found this to be the cleanest, most beautiful ship that we have ever sailed on. Outstanding food with a number of choices for dining. No extra charge for speciality dining!!! Other companies can learn from Viking's alcohol policy. You are permitted to bring alcohol on board, but the drinks are so inexpensive, one really doesn't need to. Nice to be treated like an adult. Also, the entire crew was most friendly. Every crew member, no matter the position, would always smile and acknowledge the passengers. Most modern cruise lines have very clean, well kept ships, but Viking goes far beyond. The ship was spotless, and I never had to curtail an activity due to any type of maintenance. I still am not a fan of the automatic gratuity plan and feel that behind the scenes crew should be properly compensated and not dependent on tips, but there was absolutely no hassle concerning adjusting the amount. Many of Viking's cruises are pricey, but when a good deal is offered, it is a fantastic experience.
