A little about me. Retired submariner sailing with my lovely bride from Baltimore to Tampa. We flew in to BWI on the morning of the cruise and while Corporate Sedan was taking us to the Pier 5 Hotel to meet up with friends, we found out that a computer problem was screwing up air travel all over the East Coast. Got to Pier 5 and met up for breakfast with our friends. A bunch of Cruise Critic folks had all booked Pier 5 on Priceline for a pre-cruise stay. Corporate Sedan arrived with a bus and a truck, we loaded all of our luggage onto the truck, and boarded the bus for the ride to the pier. The great thing about this, never had to touch our luggage again until it arrived at the cabin. Check in was quick, but then we had to wait a while before we could board. Got on the ship, enjoyed our lunch, and wandered a bit until we could get in our room.

Cabin 4765 was like deja vu, same cabin we'd had before and it was great. Our cabin steward kept it very neat and the bed was really nice. L class, inside cabin on Deck 4 just aft of the Champagne Bar. There's a curtain inside the room that you can pull across and block the light coming around the door frame. Makes sleeping so nice in a dark, quiet, comfortable place.

We hooked our reservations with friends that we had met from our previous cruise. Our two friends were accompanied by two other couples they had worked with. That made a table of 8. Our waiter was Ricky, assistant waiter was Tamar, and head waiter Rudy. Ricky was so amazingly attentive, and did a wonderful job of taking care of us. Tamar is transferring soon to the Oasis and we're hoping to see her there when we sail in October 2010. Rudy kept us laughing every time we talked to him, the man was incredible. He was the best head waiter we ever had. As far as food is concerned, we ate dinner every night in the dining room, 8 meals per night, exactly 1 was returned, that should explain a lot about how good the food was. I enjoy lunch in the MDR as well, on sea days, you can get the Tuti Salad, a choose your ingredients salad that is awesome. Onder was our waiter from last year, and he saw us and spoke the first night in the DR. I'm surprised each time this happens, how do they remember some one, when they see thousands of faces each year.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin L

Cabin 4765 is an L class cabin. It's an inside cabin on the 4th deck just forward of the Champagne Bar on the port side, center line. It's very convenient to the Great Gatsby Dining Room to the aft, elevators are just forward. The room does not have a refrigerator. There is plenty of drawer space, room in the closet for the bags that wouldn't fit under the bed. There is a hair dryer next to the desk. The bed is very comfortable, and the duvet kept us very warm. The shower has a curtain, and a body wash dispenser.
