We primarily cruise Royal Caribbean (RC) but this was our son's senior trip and we thought we would try the "Fun Ship". They have the O2 club for 15-17 year olds. My son and his friend did not really want to go....but I insisted they try it out. They ended up going there every evening!

We kept comparing RC to Carnival. There are pros and cons. The embarkation was smooth. There were many elderly staff who were just thrilled to be there and guide you. The same goes for debarkation. No problems. Their muster drill was better too. We didn't have to put on the life jacket and go stand by the boats. Instead you are assigned to a designated area and they scan your card. If you're not there, they call your name over the PA system. Everyone had to be accounted for....then they demonstrated the life jackets and gave a brief presentation. Quick and easy.

After we found our rooms. My husband and I went looking for the "main area" of the ship.....only to find out that we entered the ship on the main area! Very small compared to RC. I read other reviews about the deck lounge chairs and I agree......people hoarded them. I swear there were chairs with towels on them......and I never saw people there using them! Pools were small and always filled with young children. The adult "Serenity" area was nice...but only hot tubs. Also it was right by the large water works area....so not so serene with kids screaming. I feel that the ship was clean. There was also staff cleaning the bathrooms and picking up trash.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

Room was fine. Only complaint is the blow dryer was in a drawer plugged in. It barely stretched far enough to be able to see in the mirror. It was like using a yo-yo everyday.
