We had gone on a previous Viking Ocean cruise and LOVED it. On that cruise we went from Bergen to Stockholm. We told all our friends how wonderful it was.

This cruise was the complete opposite. Before we sailed one of the destinations was eliminated (Tunisia) and replaced by Naples which we were already scheduled to go to prior to the cruise. So we had a week in Sorrento/Naples prior to the cruise (couldn't change due to nonrefundable plane tickets). And we were supposed to go to Naples one day on the cruise as well.

So we chose not to go to Pompeii while in Naples (prior to the cruise) because we would go there with Viking. That turned out to not be true as that stop was eliminated during the cruise. Read more
