We chose Ovation because we wanted to experience this huge ship but were a little concerned we would feel crowded. We enjoyed the cruise and only ever felt there were too many people on board when we were leaving the theatre at night and the hallways were very busy. Windjammer dining room was always accessible as was the Grande dining room. It seemed lots of people dined in the specialty restaurants which we considered but didn’t do, as the food in the Grande dining room was little better then “pub grub”. Similarly with Windjammer buffet- the offerings for breakfast and lunch never changed and items we have come to expect on cruises were not offered- smoked salmon, choice of roasts, beautifully decorated cakes, varieties of fruit and vegetables. Entertainment in the theatre was wonderful. If we were 20 yeas younger we would have had a ball but the I-Fly and Flowrider are a bit beyond us. It is definitely a great ship for families. The Solarium pool area was lovely for the older folk as it was child free. Rooms were a little smaller than expected and only toiletries offered were soap and shampoo. ALso no coffee in cabin only tea- guess they want you to buy it. Service was always impeccable. A favourite spot we found was the bionic Bar where robots made our drinks.

Our excursion into the city took us up to observation deck at sky tower, past th old railway station and to petronas Towers. It was KL International Marathon day when we were there so that was an added bonus seeing 40,000 runners at the finish line,
