  3. MSC Meraviglia
Just finished a one week cruise on the Meraviglia from Rome, travelling to Palermo, Malta, Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa. We went on the Divina from Miami last year thus having experienced Msc before. First impressions were great as the Meraviglia is obviously much newer and the decor and the rooms were much nicer looking. We booked the Fantastica class with a Balcony room on deck 12. Great location midship. We booked excursions for every port and enjoyed every single tour. Now the not so good part: food on this ship in both the dining room and buffet was nothing to rave about. We ended up booking the a la cartes and paid a hefty price. The food there was on improvement but still nothing compared to Royal Carribean. The biggest disappointment was the service. From waiters who could barely understand english, orders being repeatedly wrong, slow bar service and constantly being overlooked (ignored) and just plain rude and unfriendly service were a total put off. Much so, that at the end of the cruise I asked to have the daily service charge removed from our bill. They did so without question. One would have thought there would be some follow up as to why but they did not seem to care. We also found that there was not much in entertainment. Live music was far and few.....we are in our 50s and are open to any kind of music. There was the odd jazz music and some very boring piana player. How about some fun and cultural appropriate live music (we were in Spain)!? We did a guided wine tasting on sea day which was fun. Other adults only activities would have been great. Went to see Cirque and saw Sonar. Not like the real cirque du soleil but still rntertaining. To sum it up we will not go on MSC again for the before mentioned reason.

Big dissappointment

Cabin Review

Fantastica Balcony Stateroom
Cabin B2 12226
Modern decor, great location. Not enough storage space. More drawers would be nice.
