We choose this cruise for the price (received a good deal in email) , for the new ports that we haven't done before and also to try the Royal Princess (3600 passengers). All this was perfect, but we wewe impressed by the service we received from everyone!
Starting with embarkation, we were directed smoothly and promptly (we had priority check-in), no fuss anywhere! Our cabin (balcony Aloha mid-aft) was perfect, on the good side for every port (left side, even number).
We had Anytime dining, and it worked perfectly, no lines, no reservations, at least four options every night : the buffet, 1 pizzeria and 2 dining rooms (Symphony from 5:30PM to 9:00PM and Concerto, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM). The food was very good everywhere. The Horizon Buffet is almost half of the 16th floor, with sections repeating food 3 times, so no big lines like on other ships. Enough tables outside for those wanting to eat on the terrace.
12th floor, mid-aft, port side. Well located, near stairs and elevators, but far enough so no noise. It is 3 floors down from the Horizon Buffet, and we took the stairs every time, because the elevators are very busy...Total is 48 stairs...
The electricity in the room is ON only when you insert a card in the control box, so we put a old card in and it worked.
The shower is bigger than on the other ships we were on before, a nice improvement! The balcony floor is also better, but noisy when you move the chairs around... so please think of your neighbours... The in-room intertainment is also better : on the TV, we could choose from a variety of films, TV shows, documentary... and any Princess information of venues on the ship. The BEST one is the Ship's Security directives, made on the theme of "The Love Boat", with the orginal actors from the TV-Show... so good, you want to look and listen to it to the end! A must see!
Our steward Vitor was very nice and funny, and always helpful.
