Reason for travel; Couple wanting a relaxing holiday, with safe opportunity to see mexico and Belize, places we would not normally visit. The ship Rhapsody is one of the smaller ships and the interior is lovely. The outside looks like it needs a lick of white paint. Great cruise but be careful which excursions you choose, some are basic tours which are just money making exercise with little to see ie Costas Maya Highlights- shopping street, police station and fire station! although the beach was beautiful.Better to have just visited the port area with many shops, beach area, bird aviaries and a small area of beach. Snorkelling in Belize off a private Island was good though. We also went on the highlights of Tampa transfer to airport excursion on last day as we had a late flight, we thought it would be better than staying in the ship when in transition as nothing going on so would just be sitting waiting for transfer. Although the organisation was excellent the tour was boring and non existent. The highlight a 15 minute break to get a coffee!. Toured around residential homes, stopped for coffee and then 15 minutes at University, and then an hour in ybor city but only the restaurants and cigar rolling shop were open as on a early sunday morning! Arriving at the airport at 12.30 to wait for a 6.oo pm flight! ( Tampa is very small airport!)
Food in the windjammer was beautifully laid out and plentiful and vast selection. However, not always piping hot. Sometimes very busy but always able to find seating. The main dining room was excellent with lovely food and attentive service. the entertainment staff tried hard and most of the shows were good and provided a variety of types of entertainment. Some of the cast were better at singing than others in our opinion but that is a matter of taste, as they worked hard.
