With this being our 9th cruise of 6 Days or longer (7th in the Caribbean), this experience was more about the ride than the destination. Having excellent experience with RCL in the past, we decided to try out the Allure and were not disappointed in this vessel! It is separated into amazing "neighborhoods". The food was very good, the entertainment top notch. We did find their drinks to be a little overpriced by cruising standards and the All You Can Drink package was $63/Day/person. You are required to purchase this package for everyone 21 and older in your stateroom...my wife does not drink very much so it would have taken me a LOT to break even. I found the system on MSC of purchasing a book of drink coupons more effective. When it comes to eating at the Windjammer, there is a line out the door if you go after 8am which wasn't an issue for us except for one day. The secret is to try other options if you don't mind forgoing buffet style. We opted to eat at Johnny Rockets (no additional charge for breakfast) and had a nice breakfast.
The cabin was very comfortable by cruise standards. Extremely comfortable bed and the balcony was deep enough to sit comfortably with an unobstructed view. Bathroom size was typically small, not unexpectedly so. Our cabin attendant was very attentive and thorough.
We opted to cancel our Kayaking excursion due to rain and glad that we did. The group that we would have been in got caught in a downpour in the middle of the bay! Royal Caribbean has really built up this port and activities, unfortunately a lot of them were shut down due to weather.
