During this cruise, I got married on board. We had our wedding party and officiant sailing with us. The hotel manager caught wind of this and apparently emailed heads of staff on board. Unbeknownst to us, we had so many areas fulfill the day of our dreams. There was an amazing cake brought to dinner, towel swans and rose petals in our room, and even our own private photographer at no additional charge. The cruise and my wedding was amazing, thanks to an incredible staff and cruise experience. I am now a 3 star mariner and will continue to sail with HAL!!!
Our cabin was always cleaned in a timely manner, including my request for extra ice at all times.
Our dining stewards were always on top of things, including my order for an extra lobster tail on Gala night.
Our cabin was always attended to and very clean.
Unless you take an excursion, there is not much to do at the port. Touristy shops and Margaritaville with a large pool area. It reminded me of the port in Costa Maya.
We took to wandering the Havensight port area of St. Thomas on our own. We were going to do the Skyride to Paradise point, but there was a bit of a line and got stopped by the Rum Hut and had the best wings I have had in a long time. It is a simple little outdoor hut near the entrance to the pirate museum. I never imagined a small place would have such wonderful wings. They also serve pizza from an old fashioned brick oven that others raved about. The service was amazing and the drinks were good - we had just stopped to get a drink while waiting for others to come by.
The island is gorgeous and fun to swim in the crystal blue water. Just be forewarned that if you have the signature beverage package on board the drinks on their island are not included in that package. We were told by different staff members it was. However, we were charged for the drinks we did have on the island.
