Let me first say, I think the Celebrity Silhouette is a great ship. Our trip was very good and positive, but I wouldn't recommend it for families on Spring Break. I think the ship had more families on it than it is used to and more kids than normal.

I have never been on a cruise where the sea day you couldn't get anywhere to sit on the deck as well as couldn't even really get into the pool because of so many people. We went on the ship as we were gathering our family for my father's 80th birthday. We had our 13 year old daughter with us. Even though they have the teen center and activities, I think they are more set up for a smaller number. Even though people are not supposed to save chairs and they even had notes on them, that did not matter. In the evening, there were a group of teens on the pool deck that went unchecked. Though they weren't causing any real trouble, they were being very rowdy and obnoxious. Yes, I think parents should control their kids, but no one from the staff seemed to do anything about them even when asked to do so. My daughter and wife wanted to do an evening swim since the pool was less crowded and felt they really couldn't stay out there cause of the behavior.

I don't want to knock Celebrity. Normally we would have taken this type of cruise on their sister line Royal Caribbean because it's more family oriented. As a recommendation, I do not think it's set up for spring break family time is all.

One recommendation I would say is do not get a suite on the 12th floor. You are right below the upper deck and on occasion at night you could hear the carts with towels or other stuff being pushed by staff with the click click click. It wasn't bad but if you like quiet, you might want to be on 11. I will say the overhang from the upper dang gave you shade during the day to sit out on the deck without getting blasted by the sun.
