We chose this cruise because we wanted to experience the beauty of South America and thought that this ship could take us there consistent with the stated itinerary. But this is where the old saying, "believe half of what you see..." Celebrity forgot to tell its passengers BEFORE boarding that they were having issues with the propulsion system of the ship and, as a result, times in ports were "revised." Actually, that meant shortened. But there were revisions to revisions to revisions as this Voyage of the Damned progressed.
A crew member fell ill and had to evacuated at sea. Unforeseen and most unfortunate. Revision. Rough seas that caused a further slow down in speed. Revision. Missed ports...revisions.
But lest we forget the entertainment that was lackluster. A talented production crew that was given material that was corny and a throw back to a time when my grandparents grandparents just might have liked it. There was a great pianist that we enjoyed THREE times because another performer just couldn't go on due to his sickness and some other performer's excuse. Could this cruise director have any originality at all??!!
