Wow what a fabulous cruise we had! I love the central promenade on this ship. it made getting around so easy. no one ever got lost. The ice skating shows were amazing and a must see for everyone on board. We had fantastic dining staff who always served us with a smile and a laugh. Bar staff could be a little hit and miss but overall were pretty good. My biggest disappointment would have to be the solarium. unless you got there super early getting a lounge chair near the pool was impossible. So found ourselves having to go up a deck to find a lounge chair in the sun. We went most evenings to the main show. Most of these were pretty good but found the entertainment slightly lacking. Would of liked to see a bit more comedy shows and maybe a guitarist / soloist in the solarium during the day. We did do Dine right first Night in Choppes Grill. It was a beautifully cooked meal but found due to going on the first night and eating at 8pm it was way too late for me. I would definitely choose Explorer of the Seas again if I found a good one I liked.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

was a great cabin Good size. bit unfortunate that we did book side by side cabins and ended up with a great big metal wall between us.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

We loved Sydney arriving 2 days prior to our cruise gave us the opportunity to be nice and relaxed prior to boarding.

Lifou

I'd been here on a previous cruise and done a small amount of snorkeling. this cruise we went with the intent of spending a good portion of our port day discovering the Jinek Bay Marine Park.

Port Vila

Port Vila. Wow we caught a mini bus up to the main street we found the roads and cars very chaotic. But the locals seem to understand what everyone else was doing. The big yellow duty free was the best shopping and we got some good alcohol bargains. if your looking for some Tiffany and Co jewellery this is the shop for you. We took a water taxi back to the ship. Be very firm with the locals as they can get a bit pushy. watch out for the guys with the lizards. They put them on my kids as we were going into a shop and then asked me for $5 each. RIP off. Markets around the docks were pretty good and I got my hair braided here.

Mystery Island

theres no Mystery here. being about 100metres wide and maybe 2ks long. it has some pretty spots around the island markets were just so so. but understandably so when everything is bought in by boat for each cruise. Some of the kids went off with one of the locals for snorkeling but said it was good but once you were in the water it was hard to get back on board the boat as there was no ladders. they also got some nasty coral cuts.
