We chose this cruise because we were on the Paradise a few years ago and had a good time. Plus it fit in our spring break timeline (teacher) and we love going to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We were the 2nd cruise after the Paradise's dry dock. The changes are amazing. The color scheme, cabins makeovers, additions of Guys Burgers, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar among a few changes make the Paradise a hidden gem in the Carnival Fleet.
However, cruise director Jaime Dee is the best cruise director we have ever seen. Her positive and fun attitude, energy, and love for what she does is infectious throughout, not only her staff, but everyone aboard the Paradise. When we told her she was the best cruise director we have ever had, she was quick to give credit to everyone and said she was just a part of the great staff. Being a former high school football and baseball coach, I know what she is saying is true. However, it takes a great leader to get everyone to believe in what you are doing and to get on board with you. She has what is called the "it" factor.
If you can't have fun on the Paradise with Jaime Dee as the cruise director, you can't have fun on a cruise.
Cabin had more space. Shower stall was still small but that was fine. No problems with the cabins.
Took a taxi ride around the island. Visited "Hell" , the turtle show, and the dolphin show. Ate at Margaritaville. I was disappointed in the service and the food and it takes a lot for me to not like a Margaritaville. Two of the drinks we received were so watered down and nasty we couldn't drink them. I took them back to the bar where the bartender apologized and quickly made two more. When I got back to the table, my wife still had not received her drink.
We went to Mr. Sanchos for the day. This place was amazing. All the food and drinks you could eat and drink for $55. We had our feet nibbled on by fish. We drank and ate until they closed at 5:00. Good thing or we might still be there. We visited many of the shops on our way out.
