This was a toe-in-the-water for us, having always preferred organising our own sailing/driving/villa/touring holidays with all their inherent stresses. By contrast this was entirely stress-free - not one single argument! The ship is lovely. The food is pretty good but the premium restaurants are not worth the extra cost. We had a balcony cabin with a sofabed and a bed which lowered from the ceiling, which was a squeeze with 2 teenage boys, so we would definitely opt for larger/interconnecting cabins next time. The bed was uncomfortable, and I still have a stiff back 3 days later. My eldest son (15) loved the teen club and we hardly saw him. Onboard entertainment was not really our thing. We opted to go it alone on shore excursions - we were provided with perfectly adequate information sheets and maps for each port, and free shuttles were provided if the ship was docked away from the centre.
Lower bed and sofa bed for 2 kids effectively closed off balcony in the evening and morning. Main bed not comfy. Cabin steward outstanding.
Docked right next to the Cite de la Mer which was interesting, particularly the nuclear submarine. Town centre very close so we strolled in for crêpes.
Lovely beach and easy to walk around. Visited the lighthouse and the Museum of Mankind, which was interactive and great fun, despite being only in Spanish.
Great city. Shuttle dropped us off at the centre. Visited the Guggenheim and took the tram to the old main square and had really good paella.
