I have been on many cruises in the past 15 years mostly with Norwegian. Over time, I have noticed the personal service declining especially since gratuity has become shared with everyone and not a certain specific person. Our room steward, Joseph, was on top of things. You ask, you receive. Always had our room spotless and restocked. All staff, over the whole ship, was friendly and courteous. We used the bar service. Drinks were made quickly, strong, and to order. We had the drink package. Make sure you specify which brand name of alcohol you prefer. I also took a stainless steel mug to keep the drinks colder while laying out. There was not as many bar staff walking about the sunning areas as usual. This was disappointing. There were many lounge chairs to pick from on deck. Just leave your towels tucked in, if you need to run an errand on the ship. It will be there when you get back. We also left all of our sunscreen, hat, glasses, books, etc in a bag on the chair. We also had the dinning package. We picked the Cagney, Le Bistro, Moderno, Tappenyaki. Food was great. We ate at the Cagney last and wish we would have eaten there all 4 meals. The food was the best I have tasted at any restaurant. The service was the best. The waiter Jonathon cared about us and treated us like that. The Moderno is a Brazillian style and meat was seasoned wonderfully. The Tappenyaki is a Japanese steak house. Food was excellent but presentation was not as good as in past. The French restaurant was tasty. Make sure to book special dinning room options prior to sailing. They will fill up on the first day. My only complaint was the wait staff in the main dinning rooms. Everything seemed chaotic. Seemed like everyone was new and in training. They wouldn't clear off old plates before serving the next course. Water glasses were not filled timely. Long waits between courses. Didn't ask kids (13 & 10) regarding drink orders. Served drinks and meals to the wrong people at the table. Reached over to front of us to deliver or pick up dishes, instead of serving from the right. Food was good and good choices but not the best service. My 10 year old attended the day camp and always looks forward to it. She didn't enjoy it much this time. Not a lot of crafty activities to do. My 13 year old daughter was told she had to be in the teenage center with ages from 13-18. Able to check in and out without parent permission. Would be playing arcades and dancing. She and I were not impressed. She didn't ever attend. Great stops. We booked excursions prior to sailing so we could be sure to get the ones we wanted. Overall great, relaxing cruise.

Took our own Taxi to Eagle Beach. Beautiful and calm water. Taxi was $13 for approx 2 mile ride. There were nice restrooms and little restaurant on site. Rental for chairs and umbrella was too much. $20 for umbrella and $10 each for lounge chairs.

We booked our own tour so we could see the salt flats and flamingos. We walked off the ship and booked our tour under the canopies. Open bus $25/person. Tour guide was Luc. He was very informative and made frequent stops along the road to let us get out and take pics. Approx 3 hours with option to stay at a resort beach and taxi back. There are few sand beaches on this Island. Everything is made of corral. This island is for snorkeling or scuba diving. Beautiful island. Salt mines were amazing to see along with the pink water. The flamingos are just hit and miss standing in the water. Such fun to find them. They also rent golf carts and you can tour island yourself but there is no history or information.

Tour guide spoke broken English, so more difficult to understand. Very proud to talk about her city. Short, slow paced tour approx 1 hour. Plenty of time afterwards to see the rest of town on your own.

  • Cave Tour
Cave guide was very informative. No pictures allowed in cave except one room due to bats in cave. Cave is above ground so very hot and humid inside. Tour last approx 45 mins inside cave. Must climb up 50 steps to enter cave and then back down to exit. Interesting for first time but don't need to do again.

Went to Bamboo beach. Excellent beach, smooth water. Food was awesome esp the jerk chicken!! The free alcohol drinks were awful. Bad alcohol and too much, but free. Bathrooms were small and long lines so don't wait until boarding bus.

  • Dunn's River Falls
Unorganized but yet organized. Seemed like a long wait to get to the falls. Then had to split up our entire group, but our family stayed together. The Fall's were great. Video taped by the leader the whole way and then could buy for $14 afterwards. We took a water camera and took our own pics. Able to take your time climbing. Some rocks slippery so wear good water shoes-no flip flops.

Our tour guide was Joseph. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Some how we were always behind so cut back on our stop times. We went to Hell first. Only had 10 mins. Could have used 20. It is really cool to look at. Then went to the turtle farm. Again only had 30 mins but needed more. We were able to see the giant breeding turtles and the smaller ones and even hold them. Then went to swimming with the sting rays. AWESOME. My youngest was scared of the being stung so stayed on boat, but rest had a great time. Waist high water and they swim all around your legs wanting food. The guide caught one and you could take pics with it. Best tour ever.
