We choose this cruise because it traveled down the Amazon River and through the Caribbean. This trip didn't start well. An ice storm prevented us from arriving in Miami in time to catch the ship. Viking met us at the airport. Arranged transportation to a nice hotel in Miami. A representative was with us at the hotel to answer questions and keep us informed about catching the ship at its first port. Viking arranged air travel to Grenada where we spent two days at a beach resort to wait for the ship. They also arranged for our included tour of Grenada on one of those days. Breakfast was included for the 4 days we were stranded. The service that we received from Viking was exceptional. From keeping us informed while waiting to get on the ship to the greeting we received upon arrival.
The ship its self was lovely. Never felt crowed even though the ship was fully booked. There was a shortage of covered areas on the decks. Being in the tropics it was very hot. The food was delicious in all the venues. All the staff was friendly and prompt with what every you needed. Entertainment was very enjoyable. Lecturers were knowledgeable. The storage space and lighting in the bathroom was some of the best for cruise ships. The port excursions were ok. Riding on a large coach is not the best and the guides were hard to understand. Viking Cruise Line did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend it.
Comfortable beds. Acquitted room. Enough storage. Bathroom very good. Liked the heated bathroom floors. Very nice room.
