Still lots to love about this cruise, but sad to see so many budget cuts

This was my 14th cruise, 10th with Carnival, and 3rd on the Triumph.

Embarkation was quick and easy. We had a signed up for an 11:30 to 12:00 time slot. I pity those who didn't get a time slot early because they probably didn't get on the ship until 3:00. I view this new system as big reason to avoid Carnival in favor of other cruise lines. I hope they go back to the way it was before. Those who don't get on the ship by 2:00 had to carry on all of their luggage - another reason to book another line.

Once on the ship, we got some lunch with just a 5 minute wait for the Iguana. Lines weren't too bad until about 2:30, when they got a lot longer. The buffet food was the usual Carnival stuff - it looked pretty good and had a nice variety.

Cabin 4G

It was a standard inside room. We could have upgraded to an outside cabin at one point for no extra cost, but we didn't want to be on deck 2 instead of deck 7. This room is very convenient to the pool area and we make multiple trips back and forth to get a drink out our room, or sunscreen, or the camera, etc.
