Looking for a cruise that fit our schedule. We like RCCL freedom class ships. Diamond Plus on RCCL so we get benefits that seem to be shrinking. We have been to the two ports many times before so not much to do if you are not into water sports. Like to sail out of Port Everglades since we live in Florida and have options for parking. RCCL and Port Everglades make the embarkation process easy and now with the Mobile Passport coming home and going through with the disembarkation was fairly smooth. Service on the freedom class ships has always been good and The Independence Of The Seas was not an exception. The ship has enough activities without pushing it to the limit. Casino is comfortable and not over crowed most of the time. We have been on this ship a few times before and have another cruise booked in 2019. Hope RCCL with the refurbishment does not make it a nickel and dime ship like some of it's competitors!

Clean, well maintained. Small but we know that in advance. Stern of ship was a good location for food venues and Diamond Club but Deck two was a hassle.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Been there did that. Not into water sports so not for us.
