This was the 10th anniversary since we took our first Princess Hawaii cruise in 2008. Overall we feel the cruise 10 years ago was superior with regard to entertainment in the Princess Theater and Vista Lounge on board the ship and with an extra port offered on the main island Hawaii, Kona.
The ship itself, the Star Princess, is an older ship and shows the wear and tear of its years. The air conditioning system struggles at night to provide adequate cooling in the stateroom on deck 12, or the ship turns it down. We had the same air conditioning problems on this ship on a Mexican Riviera cruise we took with Princess.
The overall grade on the entertainment offered on this cruise I would rate as a C- , far below the normal standard we were used to on Princess. The biggest disappointment was the Princess staff production shows. They did 4 shows on the 15 day cruise and the productions lefts much to be desired. The singers and the dancers were sufficient to have a better show but the content was lacking.
Cabin was typical Princess Balcony room. A little tight for space overall and the shower is barely adequate. Balcony was sufficient size for two people.
