I had previously been on 7 cruises on 3 different lines. I had never sailed with MSC so a group of three decided to cruise the new line on their new ship, Seaside. MSC was an outstanding cruise line and the ship was amazing.
What was GREAT: We had the Aura package that included a balcony, two free massages, the beverage package, and a private sun deck and bar. The bar package was unlimited, not X number per day like other lines; The ship was beautiful and designed so that you never really realized there were 4800 people on the ship; Up-To-Date - everything was state of the art on the ship.
What was not so good: 1. There were three in out state room. The Aura package came with on-board social media, but only 2 devices could be connected - even though we all three paid the same price. 2. The nightly shows were OUTSTANDING - almost Broadway quality BUT the performers lip-sinked and the Re-Verb was set so high you could not really hear the performance; 3. We had to ask for soap to be added in our state room and our room steward never made towel animals for use (I though this was standard when cruising). 4. Photos - we bought the Digital package which advertised that you owned the digital pictures - But you can not blow-them up for printing. You still have to pay MSC for the pictures if you want prints - RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!! and Lies!!!!!!!
The cabin was great - especially the extended balcony. However, the room service left MUCH to be desired. We had to request soap be added to the dispenser and, though it may sound funny, our cabin steward never made us towel animals.
Our package included ship-board social networking through the phone but it was only offered to 2 of the suite mates, nit the 3rd - even though we all three paid the same fare.
