We were on our 4th attempt to see the northern lights and we finally did it and it was worth the perseverance, 2 nights in succession they danced for us. Because of this alone we have given 5 stars.

The ship and crew were as usual first class and everything was up to Fred's usual standard, food was good, entertainment was good, cruise director was exceptional. The only note of caution was the new grill restaurant,we tried it and found it lacking , other people said they enjoyed it so perhaps it was us. The weather was very kind and the days we were scienic cruising could not have been better, it was very good itinerary. We didn't use Fred's excursions we did our own with local taxis and buses and saved a fortune. We got to the ice hotel just as the tour buses were leaving and had it to ourselves and saved approximately half of ships price( there were 4 of us). All in all a very successful trip. Even disembarkation was a doddle

PS. It rained in Bergen as usual
